I live in New Jersey, just outside of NYC, where I lived for about twelve years, and where I still work as a full-time Lecturer at John Jay College. My husband and I bought a house in the worst shape we could find so that we could live in a sweet town. We've been renovating it since 2009, which has been alternately tedious and exciting.
I am working on a novel about a woman who gets involved with a group of ghost investigators. I am more interested in the people who have enough faith to spend their time and energy investigating than in actual ghosts. I've been reading books by Paul Eno, a paranormal investigator who proposes that ghosts aren't the souls of dead people, reluctant to leave. He proposes that they are people who are alive, and that we are seeing them via quantum mechanics. I find his outlook fascinating. I've also infused this book with one of my favorite places: the Basque country of Spain.
I like cooking, jogging, binge-watching Netflix, and being with my two children.
